Entries in Category Overview not showing in FAQ List

Feeling kinda dumb right now as I installed the software a few months ago and started working on creating nested categories for the site
but never actually went live. So, it's possible that I've forgotten some 'newbie lessons'...

However, this AM I started to go back and add to the application, to align it with categories we are using with other sites and
now I seem to have lost some entries. While I can re-create the lost items, there is one thing which has me stumped.

Specifically, there are sub-categories showing on the Category Overview report that are not showing on an FAQ List.
And, I can't find any way to Edit the entries, so i can move them to new sections of the FAQ List tree.

I'm prepared to find out that these are "orphaned DB records", but there doesn't seem to be a way to prune the DB without dumping all data and
reloading it.

Lastly, as there's only a single user at this time, and its the Admin, I don't believe that we have a permission issue.

I am using version 2.8.3 and the URL is http://faqs.atlanticwebs.com.

Any help would be appreciated.
