admin timeout while adding FAQs

Post by ardiederich »

I'm using 1.4.4. I've found that even when I set the login cookie, I can have my session expire while I'm typing in a FAQ. Is there a way to not have the admin's time out? I saw in an earlier post that this may work
faq/inc/config.php. Change $ipcheck = "true"; to $ipcheck = "";
but it doesn't work for me.

Thanks for the help.

Yes I did. I can't remember which offhand, though. From the files I've left lying around I either started with 1.4.1 or 1.4.2, it looks like.

I certainly hope I used update.php. :D I believe I made the hand-config change after I got to 1.4.4, though. I haven't tried 1.4.5 yet. Do you know offhand what bugs got fixed for that version?

Hi,

So if I understand you correctly, when I make a change to inc/config.php I need to re-run update.php?

Hi,

no, only after an version upgrade. update.php updates the database structure.

ah. I know I ran update.php for 1.4.4, and I'd be really surprised if I didn't run it for earlier versions, too. Is there a specific table, table structure, or data in a table you're looking for? I'm happy to provide it.

Hi,

some tables were changed between 1.4.1 and 1.4.2. Some columns named "user" were renamed to "usr".

I have plenty of usr columns, and no user columns. So I don't think that's it. Logging in to the admin part works great, and the cookie gets me passed the first login screen, it's just that my session times out. It's only really annoying when I'm editing a faq and lose the work. My current work-around is to save more often.

Hi,

do you use cookies for authentication? If yes, try to delete them and try to login again.

I logged in (using the cookie) deleted all my cookies for the website. It logged me off. I logged in again, it set the cookie. After a while I got logged off again. Oh, I'm using Firefox 1.0 on linux. What browser are you testing with?

Hi,

I'm testing with Firefox on Windows. This is really strange. Could it possible to turn on the DEBUG MODE in admin/index.php?

Not a problem. I turned debugging on, logged in to the admin side, set the cookie, waited a while, hit the startpage againt, then was logged out. Here's the debug:

DEBUG INFORMATION:

DELETE FROM supportfaqadminsessions WHERE time < '1107895932'
SELECT usr, pass FROM supportfaqadminsessions WHERE UIN='3cb9354b869cb948fdb7c223d1358a61'
UPDATE supportfaqadminsessions SET time = '1107897732' WHERE uin = '3cb9354b869cb948fdb7c223d1358a61'
SELECT id, name, realname, email, pass, rights FROM supportfaquser WHERE name = '' AND pass = ''
INSERT INTO supportfaqadminlog (id, time, usr, text, ip) VALUES ('','1107897732','','Session expired
